Brent Harasym grew up in Pickering. Brent completed a Bachelor of Music at McGill University and a Master of Arts at York University. Following his studies at York, Brent went to law school at Western University.
Brent was called to the Bar in 2013. Prior to joining Vanular Lawyer, he practiced civil litigation, estate litigation and employment law at two prominent law firms in the Niagara Region. Brent has represented clients at all levels of Court in the Province of Ontario, as well as various Administrative Tribunals including the Human Rights Tribunal, Local Planning Appeal Tribunal, Environmental Review Tribunal, Social Security Tribunal and the Landlord and Tenant Board.
After spending some time in the Niagara Region, Brent returned to the Durham Region to continue his practice close to home. He works with his clients through all stages of the litigation process and strives to provide advice and guidance in a manner that is clear and understandable. He understands that litigation can be costly, time consuming and stressful, and focuses on working towards solutions to problems.
Where those problems cannot be solved, Brent is no stranger to the courtroom. Brent has conducted trials, motions and Applications in Provincial Offences Court, the Small Claims Court and the Superior Court of Justice.
Outside of the office, Brent is an avid baseball and football fan, audiophile and amateur chef. He was the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Niagara Symphony Orchestra for 3 years, and has served on the boards of other community organizations. He values community involvement and is excited to bring his experience, knowledge and expertise to the Durham Region.
