Jason Vanular, Barrister and Solicitor, Managing Principal Lawyer

At Vanular Lawyers, Jason heads up the Real-Estate and Corporate/Commercial practice and he also practices in the area of Wills and Estates. In 2016, Jason was anonymously voted to be a top three real estate Solicitor in Pickering by www.threebestrated.ca using their 50 point inspection method. Jason strives to achieve the best possible outcome for his clients in a creative and cost-efficient manner and hopes they are repeat clients for life.

Jason holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Ottawa and specialized in Business Commerce and Finance. He also completed the Canadian Securities Course and the Canadian Risk Management Course. After obtaining a post-graduate degree in Law from Bond University in Australia where he graduated with First Class Honors, he was called to the Bar in Ontario and remains in good standing with the Law Society of Upper Canada.   

Prior to his legal career, Jason worked on Bay Street as a Vice President and Practice Leader for a large international insurance brokerage. In this role, he sold professional liability products to executives of multinational corporations and financial institutions across Canada and the United States and he managed a large portfolio of accounts. He also gained an appreciation for contract law, claims settlement, negotiation and building strong customer relationships. As such, he decided to pursue a career in law and follow his father’s footsteps as a reputable Solicitor practicing in Durham Region for over 30 years.

Prior to joining Vanular Lawyers, Jason articled with a prominent Bay Street Litigation firm which specialized in all areas of Litigation.

Jason grew up in the Durham Region and he strongly believes in supporting community initiatives. He is also a proud member of the Ajax Pickering Board of Trade. When Jason is not in the office you can find him playing volleyball, golf or squash or enjoying time with his family

Steph Scott is an Associate and Head of the Wills and Estates practice at Vanular Law. 

Law is personal and whether it involves the biggest financial transactions in real estate or guiding her clients through the toughest times in estate planning/administration, Steph’s goal is always to make the experience as easy as possible. Being a member of the Durham Region community her entire life, she understands the importance of helping out your neighbours. 

Steph was born and raised in Pickering. After graduating from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, she made the big move north to obtain her Law Degree at the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Once graduated and defrosted, she moved back home to Pickering. 

Steph has experience dealing with all types of residential and recreational properties, having started her law career in the Kawartha Lakes region. She leads with compassion, care and an appreciation of family in her Wills and Estates practice. 

When not at the office, Steph enjoys taking her cockapoo, Louis, for walks along the boardwalk.
